Redeeming Love
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers: A retelling of the biblical story of Gomer and Hosea. Redeeming Love is a life-changing story of God's unconditional love. -MH

This author is amazing, how she helps you step back in time and brings characters to life in the midst of real biblical stories you are familiar with. I began with her Out of Egypt series, starting with Counted with the Stars, then the series with A Light on the Hill, and then the series beginning with To Dwell Among the Cedars. Her characters will captivate your attention! -AVW

The Masterpiece, Redeeming Love, The Scarlet Thread, The Lady's Mine (this one was slow, but worth it), The Last Sin Eater (such a cool story), The Atonement Child, The Priest, Unashamed, Ushaken, Unspoken, Her Mother's Hope, Her Daughter's Dream, and the series beginning with A Voice in the Wind (hang on because this one will stick in your spirit, so very good). -AVW

Gods and Kings, Song of Redemption, The Strength of His Hand, Faith of My Fathers, Among the Gods, Return to Me, Keepers of the Covenant, and On This Foundation. A lot, not all, of her books are filled with good character plots, set in biblical times and surrounded by familiar biblical facts. Wonderland Creek was an awesome one, too, but not set in biblical times. Legacy of Mercy, Chasing Shadows, All Things New, If I Were You, Long Way Home, Wings of Refuge, Until We Reach Home, Candle in the Darkness, Fire By Night, A Light to My Path, Where We Belong, All My Secrets, All She Ever Wanted, While We're Far Apart, Hidden Places, and Though Waters Roar. All of these are incredible stories around those oppressed with faith-based and spiritually woven. -AVW

Judah's Wife, Jerusalem's Queen, King's Shadow, Daughter of Cana, The Shepherd's Wife, and A Woman of Words were some of my favorites of hers. Dreamers, Brothers, and Journey is a great series of three books. Esther, Bathsheba, and Delilah were really good, too, but the first ones listed were my favorite of hers. More character plots built around scripture and biblical times. -AVW

The Hidden Prince (loved this one), Thief of Corinth (starts out really slow), Jewel of the Nile, Land of Silence, and Bread of Angels. All so good, set in biblical times, surrounded by familiar scriptures and characters. The Peasant King was one of my latest by her, another really great biblical fiction! -AVW

The Pharaoh's Daughter, Love in a Broken Vessel, In the Shadow of Jezebel, Love's Sacred Song, and Love Amid the Ashes are a few. This author is similar to Connilyn Cossette, when I sought to find characters built around true biblical stories and facts. I love learning more about the Bible while soaking in a really good, heartfelt story. -AVW

Sarai is one I have listened to by her and it was really good, building up a storyline about Sarah and Abraham of the Bible. It was a little slow at times, but a good read! -AVW

Great reads of rising out of ashes basically or coming out on the other side of tough trials. Faith-based and spiritually woven. Larkspur Cove, Blue Moon Bay, and Firefly Island are so good! -AVW

If you are looking for a historical romance feel, around times of oppression in history, with faith woven in she has some great stories! Beyond this Moment, Within My Heart, To Whisper Her Name, To Win Her Favor, and To Wager Her Heart are a few. Also, A Million Little Choices was more modern, but a great read, rising out of trials with faith woven in. -AVW

Night Bird Calling, and A Hundred Crickets Singing were really good books set in the scene of oppression times like the Civil War. So very good! The Promised Land (Vietnam) and Saving Amelie (German oppression, World War) were great, too! Her characters are captivating, pulling you in easily! Faith, friendship, and justice. Her stories and writing are similar to Lisa Wingate. -AVW
